About Play Zone

Play Zone is an independently run collection of 12 free browser games. It exists because most free game sites have become almost unusable — three video ads before a match-three game, a newsletter popup, a cookie wall, and somewhere underneath all of it, eventually, the game.

This site takes the opposite approach. Open a page and the game is there. No account, no download, no launcher, no interstitial.

What is actually on here

The games fall into two groups. The ones labelled Original were written from scratch for this site in plain JavaScript — no engine, no framework, no third-party frame. They run entirely inside your browser, keep high scores in your device's local storage, and transmit nothing anywhere.

The rest are HTML5 games licensed from established distribution networks. Those load in an embedded frame from the distributor's servers, and the games themselves remain the property of their original developers. We write our own guide for every one of them.

Why every game has a written guide

A page containing nothing but an embedded game is not worth visiting twice. For each title we write out the controls properly, explain the actual strategy rather than repeating the obvious, and answer the questions people genuinely ask. The strategy sections are written by someone who has played the game, not generated from a template.

How the site pays for itself

Play Zone is free to use and carries advertising. Ads are placed away from game controls on purpose — never overlapping the play area, never in a position where a missed tap becomes an accidental click. Some embedded games also show their own ads inside the game frame, which is set by the game's distributor rather than by us.

We do not use popups, popunders, forced redirects, or auto-playing audio ads.

Standards we hold ourselves to

  • Every game must load and be playable without creating an account.
  • Nothing marked as a game may be a disguised download or install prompt.
  • No ad may sit inside, on top of, or immediately beneath the play area.
  • Written content is original. We do not copy descriptions from other sites.
  • Broken games get removed rather than left to frustrate people.
